This is a review for the EVIL trails in Ellicotville, NY. an IMBA epic designation, and if your out in the buffalo or WNY neck of the woods, its a defnite place to ride. so bring your bike. Located in a ski town, there is no lift access so dont bring the big bike, think kingdom trails, not diablo. Way more singletrack than you can ride in a weekend. Awesome trails, makes being away from home for a couple weeks in buffalo tolerable knowing there is a great place to ride up here... Again its almost as good a place to ride as KT, no joke.
As for how to get there/what trails where to park, just get yourself to Ellicotville, NY and go to the bike shop in town and buy a map. its $6 and they will tell you where to ride based on what you want to ride.
You would be better off with a AM/Trail/XC bike here as there is defnitely some climbing.
Parking at the State Forest Parking area will have you climbing like 500' in elevation right off the bat. there are other ways to acess the trails, parking in town and riding up the ski trails is one of them. I am going to try that this weekend, as the climb out of the state forest parking is BRUTAL. but defnitely worth the ride and the ride back to the car. ie switchbacks area really only fun one way... down.
