Have to agree with you. After riding here a couple of weeks ago, there is some sweet single track but its a hike-a-bike price.
Don't waste your time here. If you're going to drive to Tarrywile, you might as well head over to Bennett's Pond, which is much better. If there is any decent singletrack here, it's either impossible to find or impossible to get to. The trails are much better for a (pretty strenuous) hike up to the lookout.
