===================================================================================================
What: Hydrapak is sponsoring a contest that we are calling the "2010 Crankfire Great Data Drive"
When: This contest will run from March 1st to September 30th.
The Scoop: On the 15th and last day of each month, we will calculate the single user who contributed the most data into the Crankfire system during that time span (the 1st-15 and the 16th-last day of month). This user will be awarded Hydrapak schwag. Basically, there will be 2 winners/per month, 1 per period.
What you Get: Prizes are to going to be mostly (high end) Hydrapak hydration packs.
The Grand Prize: A bunch of Hydrapak stuff and a $500 Lowrance Endura Sierra GPS. This Grand Prize will be awarded to the user that contributes the most over the entire contest period.
You can only win the bi-monthly contest once, though you will still be in the running for the grand prize.
Eh? What kind of data? Well, GPS data is great, but big ticket items are things like trails and bike shops we are missing in the system, writing your own review of either of those, waypoints (especially parking waypoints), trail reports and events. Smaller ticket items include rating stuff, associating data, tagging users in photos and making comments.
Oh and this stuff might be worth extra: http://www.crankfire.com/help/missingdata
Lastly, the spirit of this contest is to collect quality data! We have put in measures to prevent contest abuse and general ass-holery. So please don't taint our quality data with garbage just to win something! We will be watching!!!!!
Also, I shouldn't have to mention that common sense things like posting trails closed to biking, man made trail enhancements and other such no-no's will be deleted and may result in your disqualification.
Full details and the official rules will be posted shortly, I just wanted to get this out there and generate some buzz.
Spread the word!

Making some tweaks to the scoring system.
Protip: Trail Reviews and Bike Shop Reviews are worth some solid points, but they need to be at least 400 and 200 characters respectively in length to count!
