I can't log in!

First off, take a look at the forum faq, it can answer a lot of common questions. Or maybe try resetting your password. Please, please please please, follow the instructions very carefully.

If all else fails, drop us a line and we will look into it.

Chances are you filled out your birth date incorrectly while registering. Unfortunately, only an administrator can fix this for you. Contact us and let us know what is happening and be sure to include the user name you signed up as.

What coordinate system/projections/formats does Crankfire expect with provided geographic data?

As with all coordinate data collected here on the Crankfire website, coordinates provided should be provided in decimal degrees and in the WGS 84 coordinate system. If you have no idea what any of this means, don't worry! Chances are your GPS is already set to use this coordinate system.

I downloaded a trail network and I am having issues with it and my GPS!

And I believe it! Trail network files are custom, hand made merges of all the GPS tracks uploaded for a specific trail. Therefore: (1) They can be big, with excess of 25,000 track points, (2) They consist of many (many many) track segments, your GPS might not like this.

Bottom line? Well, unless your GPS is very special, chances are these are going to cause you problems.

I see videos. How can I upload them?

Videos can be a resource intensive thing to deal with - so we keep the ability to upload them into the Crankfire system on the down-low. However, if you have a good video that you would love to share with the community, you can apply to be part of the Crankfire "Movie Makers" group - simply go here and apply to the group.

Once you are accepted, you will be able to upload videos to your hearts content. Though if they are particularly poor, we might be forced to delete them.
